Yeah ,the link PN posted is Marks Vintage swap meet site. Excellent place. By the way, what is it your looking for? I have a half dozen or so I’m about ready to put on the market. These aren’t project bikes,though. All are ready to race ,but could be show winners as well.

I'm looking for an early 90's YZ or CR 125 or 250. Ideally 90-91. Have anything along those lines?

Briefly , I have a 1980 Rm100 DG team bike, a 74 YAMAHA YZ250, 77 Husky CR125 GP (AnaheimHusky/Pro Circuit team replica), super trick “Works” 77 XR75 , possibly an 82 ProCircuit Husky 250, and a couple others I may cut loose. The only CR Honda I have is a ridiculously trick CH Industries 75 CR125, but it’s somewhat promised to a buyer in SoCal.

So it doesn’t appear I can help with your specific requests, but I’ll check around with a couple of my fellow vintage racers/builders

Good morning Joe. I found this bike in Louisiana a few years back and thought it looked like an authentic CH bike (or a DAMN good replication) so I bought it. It already had the frame mods that Cliff did to lay the shocks down and to accept the 75 Suzuki RM plastic, 1st Generation DG head, Redline swingarm, GEM Reed assembly, hand made cone pipe, magnesium Marzocchi front forks and clamps, custom fabbed Alloy airbox, super trick porting ,but crappy Progressive shocks. I looked hard for a set of Cliff's Air shocks, but the closest I got was what I believe was Tex-Airs built by Glenn Johnston from Texas. Although Glenn couldn't actually confirm they were a set of his. I had a tool and die friend fab up those badass front engine mounts, and I did the aluminum wheel spacers,etc. Anyway, I stripped it down totally and rebuilt from the ground up. Blasted everything , and decided to do it in Bultaco blue--2 reasons for this. One ,I watched an old SX race ( I believe it was Houston 74 or 75) and they must have had a 125 Support class there , but I saw some blue CH Elsie's running out here and thought they looked great . Stuck out in all of the yellow and red in those days. But mainly , I actually raced a blue 125 Elsinore back then myself, so it was an easy choice. I think it came out extremely nice. A friend that had close dealings with the CH team and riders back in the day, is somewhat convinced its a legit team bike, and as I stated above ,if its not an actual CH bike ,its a really ,really good replica with all the correct frame mods and aftermarket pieces (other than the shocks) Anyway, Im posting a couple of before pics and some of the build process.

Hello, thought rather than hijack that thread, I would try to contact you directly. Cant seem to get the Captcha to work. I have a CH frame. It is not a modified Honda, but an complete frame and swingarm. I was able to contact Scott Heidbrink. Scott worked for CH back in the day. Scott had an article in a Mini Cycle or Mini Cycle action. The bike was ridden by William Joyce. I have seen video of it in action at San Antonio in 75 or76 National. Be happy to share that article (All I have is a scan) if you like. Thanks for the photos

I was able to score this beauty today. Jumped on it!!!

Can’t wait to make it just a “little” more factory.

How did reeds work on the early CR motors?
When there are a few of those coming off the gate they sound like RC airplanes to me

They were almost a necessity on the 73/74 ones that didn't come stock ,as those bikes would load up constantly if you weren't singing along at A class speed

Oh and if anyone has a line on a '90 RM125 I would be interested to hear about it. I had one I should've pulled the trigger on this fall but was stubborn when the seller changed his mind on meeting location and now kicking myself a little as this would've been a great winter to work on a restoration (no snow to go play in WI so far this season)

To run a GEM set up on my 74 CR125, the cylinder needs finger ports grooved into the cylinder to act as boost ports and the piston needs windows cut into the intake side of the piston.

Works very well with a 34mm Mikuni VM carb and FMF pipe.

Good find Regis. There doesn't seem to be much available out here in Texas. I'm looking for similar, early-mid 80's 125, or a YZ100.

Correct, and the center cases need milled out slightly on the top rear for carburetor clearance. But it certainly does make a very noticeable difference.
