Its a tm 100. 1974. I had a year ago ,wondering if anyone remembers seeing this at the races in early 1974. It was found in space coast florida. If you see it had a lot of old trick ec birt stuff ported ,polished , reed modified cylinder by ec birt, Radial head by ec birt, down cone pipe by ec birt. If you look close at bottom pic you can see. E C W on pipe bracket. ( ECWorks ) aluminum swing arm air forks . Foward mount shocks . And honda 81. Era side panels, and what looks like briggs and stratton muffler as silencer, i almost cut it off ,but i know ec also modified mowers too so you never know. . I know i posted about this before. But im very curios about bike. Sorry spelling sucks .....

Yes ,i was just looking to see if anyone had ever seen this bike in the 70s. I remember some builder painting the motors gold too. this motor was gold at one time. I may be wrong about that but it seems i remember that. Im also old Thanks Greg Ray

Probably some more of EC's cobbed together stuff. The guy was always experimenting and a lot of his work looked rather rough on the outside. I gave my brother a YZ100 top end he built and engraved right on the cobbed together extended finning was "EC Birt experimental". I don't think the guy was too concerned about aesthetics as much as performance.

Thought you mentioned you sold the bike, why all the interest now?

Just interested, also have some other old ecbirt stuff , and am hoping the guy who bought it from me responds. I would like to talk him into. Selling it. My printing business is back on track making money again. That is the only reason i did sale it. And the money i got. Helped me get through a rough time.

Wow! I think I was the original owner. Not to many 1974 TM 100's with reed valve from the Space coast. Bike wasn't near as modified when I sold it, but did have lay down shocks and reed valve cylinder. I may have an old picture I'll post.

Yea ,if you can find pics, please post. Did you race it , when you had it . I bought it from a guy named Chris. Just as it was in 2014. He lived right off of route 50. Coming in to titusville from orlando, it was on his carport with a bunch of blankets covering it. Thanks Greg

Man thats over 40 years ago but I'll try to lift the fog. I bought it new from Spaceport Suzuki around early fall of 74 to race the winter AMA and NML series. I injured my foot and missed most of the NML series except Inverness but raced Gatorback, North Florida and Orlando Sports Stadium winter AMA. She was also raced at Rockledge and Bithlo. I sold her around early spring of 75 to get my new YZ 360. Sorry about the Pic but thats all I could find, I know I have some better close up Pics from the Orlando Sports Stadium and I'll keep looking. If you have Chris's last name or address, I'd like to contact him to find out who he got it from. The reed valve mod and porting was done by Dave Moore. Let me know if you get it back. I think it would be a cool project and i'd like to help.

Thanks
Tom Brown

I never got his last name, the only thing is he said his dad bought it new for him and his brothers and his dad was into racing motorcycles. It was in a little well kept trailer park ,on the right hand side of route 50. As you come in to the town of titusville going east. Well im moving to south carolina monday, but look foward to you posting more pics if you have them. Wow your right 41 years since that bike was new. I was 12. When that was new. Man time goes by fast

That's my 1974 version of a WFO whip or two footpeg nacknack on a 100cc 2 stroke (lol).

Greg, i'll check into it. In all my years of trying to track down one of my old MX bikes, this is the closest I've come to finding one. Ill keep you posted. Good luck on your move and safe trip.

Thanks Tom, yea moved and just getting settled in, i will keep an eye on here for your pics of that bike. I will be looking for old race bikes up here. And if i find anything interesting as that tm , I will keep it this time. The guy who bought the tm100. From me ,his name was Jeff, didnt get his last name either but, he collected old maicos . And lived in south florida, he said he was going to restore it and put it in his museum. I think he is a member on here . But not sure ,thats why i kept posting on here. If i dig deep enough i may be able to find out more info on him. Thanks till next time. Greg

It looks like a 1975 to me, Purchased late 1974, probably a 1975 "Rising Sun" TM100M. My 1974 TM100L had the sweeping Green Stripe.
My 6 bits.

I had a 1974 Suzuki TM100 growing up in Orlando Florida. It had a 1975 RM125 pipe on it, a TM-125 flywheel, Inter-Am handlebars and Boge Muholland forward mounted shocks on a modified stock swingarm. I now have a original 1975 Suzuki TM-100 (Rising Sun model) that is in like new condition and runs great. It has the warning labels, stock grips, stock tires, and the Suzuki dealer even forgot to peel the protective plastic off one of the side number plates. I will take some pics of it and post them.

I saw a TM100 like your "new" 1975 for $4000 on eBay! When I was 14 I purchased my 1974 with money from my Houston Chronicle paper route, weekdays on my bicycle with canvas paper rack. No need for much other training to race.
