I am selling my dad's 1973 Hodaka Combat Wombat 125 for him . It starts and runs, it is a great rider. We just rode it today. In good shape overall, more pics available on request. The only thing it needs is an air filter, we ordered one but won't be here for three weeks apperently. Selling it just to make more room for a modern 125 MX bike. Feel free to ask any questions. Send me a PM and then we can talk on the phone if you want to come see it. We are asking $3,500 but open to reasonable offers (or trade for modern 125). Thanks!

That is a cool piece of history.. it was a great bike for a moment in history.. then the Elsinores came out. So Hodaka tried to respond with the Super Combat but still just couldn't hang with the Japanese bikes and that was the end for them.

I had one of those things.

It had two dents in the tank, from my nuts.

I think I have a couple hodaka motors somewhere.

Interesting transmission mechanics in those things. If you tried to get too much hp, it would just break the balls that engaged the gear.

Best hodake model name is a tie between the "road toad", a 100cc (?) Enduro, and "thunderdog", their attempt at a competitive 250cc mx bike

The road toad mag ad featured some guy that picked one up at a dealer and rode it on something like a 500 mile round trip that weekend. He had to have been in his 40's. They had a picture of him cruising down a freeway in cali, on a 100cc bike. Big smile and an open face helmet, Hardcore.

I was looking for a copy of that ad and ran across this one

A lot of these are fun to look at.
