Just saw & remembered the older thread Lee- yea very cool.
Just remembered two very super fast riders who may have had these Italjets or similar- think names were Mark Gillham and possibly Jason Morris- both of them were as fast as hell!! Think Morris was British Champ possibly. Not sure if they had this model but remember they had great big finned cylinders- may have even been before the PR50. Both very cool fast riders.

Think they both were from the Southern regions here therabouts or mid regions as well as doing the British ACU Championships- you may remember them? great memories of these little pocket rocket bikes and the fast riders that may have had them way back then! Probably were other quick & seriously skilled kids like those two mentioned, who had them nationally that I cannot remember.
Did not realise were only 100 of them and the 14hp as posted in the other thread!

If I had more space would buy it!

Hope it works out Dado! Know you are passionate about the Italjets and the minis!

What a fantastic present that will be! How cool if you presented your Bruv with the same bike as he had as a little ripper! The stuff dreams are made of! He would be transported back to the time when your Dad bought his other one when he was aged 11 and be as excited like then! (or more so).
Brilliant!

I sure hope so- it seems such a great thing if you and your bruv can get this Italjet all those years later after those super memories!
Was your brother fast also like you? He sounds it!
Why did you not have an Italjet Dado? Were you riding for Kawi then?

I got a super pic somewhere I think of one of the quick Italjet riders here back in the day I spoke of earlier. Must dig it out and post- also for the other enthusiasts like Alex with his Itals! (in the other PR50 thread)

**Hey Lee- do you remember any of those really quick kids I spoke of, Mark Gillham and Jason Morris or any of the others here who had these bikes or similar? Think Malin and his brother were also very quick then but not sure if they had Italjets, may have had Technomoto's at some point seem to remember. Cannot remember the years- may have been 1977-79 odd.

I also rode Italjet, although I was in the pee wee class. The model I raced was call the M5C, I was 5 at the time. I raced them in 79, and 80. My brother is 6 years older than I. My brother was on Jets from 77-79. He had CX 50’s, RX 50’s, and then the trick PR 50. We both raced NMA, and both placed within the top 5 at Ponca during our Italjet years. Great times!!!! Ted Moorewood had a strong hand in my Mod pee wees, he was a mini engine builder that was an Italjet specialist based out of SoCal. Could make anything haul ass......

What was your brothers and yourself's very best results Dado? In the NMA Championships?

Not sure how the NMA Championship worked exactly (coming from UK)- did you have to qualify, through a series of rounds and then finally the very best riders met up?

Our UK championships here- the ACU and BSMA at the time, we had to qualify through regional club meetings (maybe get into the top 3-6 regional), then go to a 'Semi Final', either South, East, West or North and finish in the top 10, then if you were good enough to do that you got into the final 40, for the National title. It wasn't easy and many quick riders.

How did NMA Championship work- was it like this?

BTW- think there was an International Youth meeting back here in the 80's- maybe first of a kind. I cannot remember quite where it was, possibly was 1983 or 84. US sent Paul Denis and poss a few others(maybe yourself in the younger classes?)- Denis won but Mark Banks, maybe the best rider here at the time was close to him(Mark went onto GP's and did good)- was an interesting meeting and scrap between those two.
Also think a US guy/ kid called Dick(Richard) Bellora?, I think in the next class down, he won easy. Think Belorra and his family may have also run or owned the Steel City Track back in the day? Do you remember Bellora? He may have been abiout the same age/ class as your bruv.
Amazing Bellora and Denis did not get further, given their crazy speed and talent back then! Both on Team Green seem to recall.

Hiya Lee- yea- think we or your brother may have in fact raced the same sort of regions etc- Southern thereabouts ? -did you or your Bruv race Ringwood Club? / Border/ Berks and Hants- Southern Regions? Did you bruv do any Portsmouth races?

Yes your Bruv may remember Mark Gillham or Jason Morris- think Jason was in fact National ACU Champ and so damn fast- same with Mark Gillham- they were like UK's Bruce Bunch/ Paul Denis / - little mini superstars!

So quick the pair of them, both also from the Southern Regions..

Think Mark also rode for Team Suzuki like Bruce Bunch did. Both those kids - Morris and Gillham were so REALLY fast- also they were both quite small! They both damn ripped it!!
I raced them both then maybe 1 or 2 times when I was 14 years old and they were only about 12 years old- they beat me or was close- still beat me though... I was semi fast maybe but not like them! They may have even been on 80cc when us others were on 100cc and both older years and also physically stronger!

Also super pics also Lee- hope it all works out with Dado and this Ital etc- such a very cool bike!

Look at those lovely parts- the Akronts etc- so trick for the time!

ATB mate.

Yes I remember Terry House and his brother Stuart House- Team Suzuki- as quick as hell, those two.

Also do you remember Alan Ranger- think he did Ringwood- was fast. Also the Bryant brothers, Aaron Bryant and his older brother- forgot his name. Both also very quick. They too may have done a few Ringwood races. Kevin Froud... many more.

Joanne Noyce (she wasn't Graham Noyce's daughter but was his sister I think, ) she had an XR75? Yep remember her abit and she did alright think- those Noyces weren't slow- male or female! Graham being the World GP champ 1979!!

Such super times and riders, wasn't it?! - would love to see some pics etc.

PM me if you can post me some pics, from those times.

Great memories mate yes from our regions!

I bet we could both share a few more names and memories from those times and our clubs/ regions! Jeremy Whatley(top GP rider)- Chris and Pip Small/ Team Green... there were alot of them. Great riders.
