I've started a nut and bolt restore on a Wr 500 my dads friend had in pieces in his shed for almost 20years.
there's a few thinks I'm stuck on!!
1. I have the original tank ,but its split and cracked. So I'm after the process for the yz250 tank conversion.
2. The old PC pipe is knackered!!.
So I'm looking at the yz490 FmF pipe and silencer and from what I've read you have to cut 1 to 2 inches from the silencer.
Problem is I have read about these mods, but no concrete guidance on how to preform them.
If anyone has any of these parts for sale I might be interested.
Thank you guys

Conversion I also did a complete nut and bolt resto to mine so ask me questions
The Shop
I have a few question if you don't mind.
1. Am I right in saying its just a inch or so you cut off the FmF silencer for the conversion, or do you have to cut and reposition the mounted brackets on the exhaust?
2. What are the mods you have to preform for the 250 tank and shroud conversion.
3. I know the 250 front fender is a match , but what about the rest of the plastics? as I can't order new ones anymore.
Also what parts do you have for sale?.
pipe goes rite on hold your silencer up to it and cut it to length
250 tank is a huge process you will need
tank
mounts
shrouds
boost bottle mount
modify pipe
mill cyl and head for tank clearance
something to mount the shrouds to like rad louvers
ill sell the stock tank but it wont be cheap
ill sell the whole 250 tank conversion for less than the stock tank it willl come with everything if you want, including cyliner head and piston if you dont want to use yours, but the weight of the cyl and head may be expensive to send to you and i can advisee you how to cut yours
heres a few pics of conversion
sent you a email pal.
cheers
