Was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what’s going on with my bike, 09 crf 450, runs great, starts right up, but after riding from anytime between 5-30 min it’s hard to start. I’m thinking it might be the valves on it but wanna know what everyone thinks!
Thanks.

Id guess your valves are tight. Once the motor heats up, everything expands a couple thousanths and thats enough to cause a zero clearance condition.

Normally tight valves make the bike hard to start when cold, but then much easier to start after it has been run.
It sounds like maybe the fuel injector is leaking and causing the engine to load up and flood when it is shut off, but it could be other things as well.

Yeah I’m pretty sure there is a small leak somewhere, cause when I shake the bike it drips and steams, that would make sence if it was the fuel injector. Thanks
