Im sure this has been asked 1000 times, but i can't find much. Im getting a 125 to play around with and have fun on. I just want to know on a new yz125 with an aftermarket pipe and silencer, how far down on power is it to the bone stock Husky 125? I know stock vs stock the TC is much faster. Thanks!

I ride both on a Test Day last Oktober.
The YZ 125 was a full modificatet GYTR 125 from Yamaha Austria, TC 125 was Stock.
The Husqvarna was faster, so for me no other way
for 125 KTM or Husquarna

They are both really good power wise, get whatever you are more comfortable on.

Your user name is suspect tho! haha I rode a full GYTR YZ 250 two stroke. My stock YZ with an exhaust was faster.
Thanks for the response.

So the YZ is not lacking as much to the Husky on the track as they make it sound then?

Unbiased opinion as I ride a CR125, notoriously the slowest 125's in recent memory: When discussing 'fast' and 'slow' 125 2T's, one has to maintain some perspective...They're ALL slow! Haha seriously, The KTM/Husky platform is the latest and greatest, of course, but with transmission problems in 16'/17' and then the Mikuni switch, they still have blemishes. A YZ will be slower (even with a pipe/silencer and reeds) but better suspended (can't stand the AER forks, just my opinion) with cheaper OE parts availability.

As always for a suggestion, ride both a figure out which one you're most comfortable on cool

PS: Which "they" are you referring to, SIS257? One particular magazine, test team, source of opinions...

We talk about 125 and not 250s.
Yes i am a KTM Fan but i like the Yamaha for keep the 2 Strokes alive, and the Suspension is excellent.

Every brand has its good and bad sides.
But Engine wise the KTM/Husky was hard to beat

Adb magazine in Australia just did a shootout between the yz, ktm and husky 125's. In austealia the yz 125 gets a hgs exhaust and v force reed block. They said it's still down s little bit on power but not much. It still has the best suspension of the group and I prefer owning yamaha's than ktm's

Yea i don't have the luxury of riding any of them. Yes they are all slow. By "they" i don't mean MXA. lmfao.

Yes I know. My point was the GYTR bike was slow.

Exactly. I built an RM 134cc and CR 134cc for fun and a stock YZ was still more powerful than both of them.
