How many hours are you getting out of your 125 before a rebuild?

On my 16 KTM 125 I’ve been changing at 20-25 and the piston still has a good amount of coating left on it.

It’s pretty easy and cheap to swap them so I think 25 is safe. My bottom end was rebuilt at 90 hours.

Are you riding tracks? I ride mine pretty hard I’ll be happy to get 20hrs out of it.

All motocross hours (screaming the piss out of it), 15-20 hours between top ends. Clutch fibers ever 30 hours or less if it starts slipping.

Yes, riding tracks. Jetting and squish are on the safe side. Maybe too safe? I’m running 50/50 91 pump gas and C12. She feels like a raped ape!

The KTM guys said they have seen stock pistons go easy 40 hours. (Not that I’d do that, but they have done it).

These all have about 20 hours on them. I just rebuilt my engine from the bottom up and have 10 hours on her. I’ll check the compression at 20 again and see how she’s doing.
