Alright, I have looked to see if I could find anything that relates to this particular swap but I can’t seem to find anything. I am looking to swap to SSS suspension on my 2003 YZ250 and I know that 2006-2008 yz450f suspension will boot right up to my bike with the 450’s triple clamp. However, I have been offered a set of 2013 yz250 suspension and would like to know if anyone has any insight if it will fit. I know I would need 48mm triple clamps and the sale would include the clamps from the ‘13 yz250 so that may take care of that issue(?).

I have looked for spec sheets but can’t seem to find anything. Does anyone know if this would work one way or another?

Thanks!!

You will need the clamps, brake caliper, wheel spacers, front plate and fender
You’re positive about this? Because I figured brake caliper, spacers, and number plate would need replaced too.

Well I was not able to find anything online showing that it worked. You’re the only person to say anything about it. So, before I spend an exuberant amount of money, I am going to ask for a double confirmation. Have you done this swap yourself?

This is my 2003 with 2006 Sunline clamps and 2006 450 forks. The picture shows 2006 clamps work with the steel frame.

I've done multiple front end swaps on steel frame yz250s. The other thing you will need to do is weld a tab onto the existing turn stopper on the frame. This makes it larger and the clamp stopper will engage it. Pretty easy. One I did I put 2012 yz250f forks on and it didn't need it.

Did you have to change the steering stem on the 06 clamp to fit in the steel frame? I have a set of Ride Engeering clamps from a 09 frame but the steering stem is to short for the steel 03 frame

Super easy. Also another cool mod is use a 06 or newer shock body with your 16mm shaft. It will fit perfectly in the frame

Get 04 triple clamps that way the stops will match up without hassle. I put 05's (same diameter)on my 2000. The only other thing I needed was 05 brake line and the metal bracket that bends the brake line around the forks sense they have a different design.
The stem on 04 and 00 are same and I suspect yours is same as mine
