I know there were a few topics in the main forum on the 2017 crf450r but I couldn't find which one. I have about 45 hours on mine and was changing the oil today and found some metal shavings when changing the oil filter. Has anyone else noticed this on theirs or heard of this being a problem. I have not had a chance to tear it apart yet but plan on having that done real soon.

I have always ridden Yamaha and would go 2 years without having to touch anything on the motor so it kind of sucks going to Honda and having this happen under 50 hours. lol
Shout out to Hansen !
Got to ride with him the other day.
Pit Row
complete clutch kit. It is a little disappointing after spending so much money for a new bike and 27 hours in ,spending quite A bit more .
Is this normal? Do you think I jumped the gun by taking it to the dealer?
im a b rider back in Australia and i had 2 17 crf450 which nothing but perfect except the clutch life was weak which i found running 3 stiffer hinson springs eliminated that problem other wise put a top end in it at 55hrs andthe piston skirts had very little wear, ring gap was still very good and even valve clearances were still spot on
both ended up doing 100+ hrs with no issues
now ive had 2 2018
clutch was much more improved and still no engine issues
i will agree depending on rider change you're oil and keep on top of the the little things to avoid big issues
