2017 KX250F starts then dies

Son rode practice then killed bike for lunch. Now it will fire up for like 2 sec then die. I'm looking at the valve gaps tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what else to to check.

Agreed. Start with the fuel pump filter. Mine had a wad of tank plastic shavings restricting fuel flow.

Im not sure how molested this bike is, but i had a prob like this on my kx450 when i first got it. Beat my head for 2 months and found out the previous owner put the tip over sensor in upside down. The bike will run for 3 seconds and die. Every time. The sensor could be bad as well.
