Get the correct squish set, this mod is better than any pipe in my opinion and will add bottom.
After 10-20 hours figure out if you like the stock suspension. Some really like the stock stuff.
If not send to Enzo for a revalve.
Thats it, you really need nothing more.
Ride it!!!!
1) suspension
2) tires
3) practice
*Retard the timing 2 degrees - this makes the bike much more ridable and stops detonation. Check it first to be sure it's stock, ride it, then retard it 2 degrees and ride it again so you can see the difference. It's a huge difference in a good way.
*Correct squish clearance and combustion chamber volume as stated earlier. Stock it's way too big of a gap.
*Jetting. Make sure it's jetted correctly. Sounds obvious, but a lot of people ride poorly jetted bikes.
$$$:
*V-force reeds
*DEP pipe and silencer
*Suspension - springs and valving from a good tuner
On my old bike i had a 9oz fww and dep pipe with dep standard length silencer. This had a smooth pull from the bottom through the mid and revved forever on top.
On my 18 I have a gytr by hgs pipe and shorty gytr silencer and no flywheel weight. With this combo the power picks up sooner off the bottom and pulls hard through the mid and goes a little flat in the top compared to the dep. I find myself going up a gear and using the extra mid to pull like a tractor compared to revving it out with the dep. For the tracks i ride the hgs system is my preferred system. I may get a standard length hgs silencer to get back a bit of over rev.
For suspension, i had my old bike done twice and didn't find it any better than stock. In 2015 the yz got updated fork settings which carried through to the 2018. The 2018 suspension is excellent. I'm 180 lbs without gear and it works great. If i was being picky i could use slightly plusher through braking bumps and a bit stiffer at the end for over jumps but all in all its pretty good
