Axle block removal

They can be a pain and can gnarl the threads up on the bottom of the fork leg. KYB makes they pretty difficult to get off since they peen the set screw and it’s held on very well with locktite. You’ll have to drill the set screw out, and then heat it up and hope it threads off without messing the threads too bad. You must use locktite when putting another one on.

What are you doing? Coatings or swapping a bad lug?

One of mine came off fine and the other had to be cut off

I would say go for it, or if you have any suspension shops local, pay them for it. Usually less than $100 and it’s on their hands.

I don’t know who, but someone on here talked to a guy at Technical touch or elsewhere and they had about an 80% chance of it coming off with no damage.

Biggest thing is not messing up the threads, lugs don’t matter I suppose if you aren’t reusing them.

I’d opt for a suspension shop to do them.

Worst case scenario if you attempt it is you ruined the lower and need another. You could then buy a new lower or buy another set, probably the same price.
