CRF450R Mapping

I just recently got my 2018 crf450r, and I am having trouble getting acclimated to the 450 power band. I have ridden 250s for years and I really learned to ring them out and ride really high in the gears... is there a way that I can re-map my 450 to ride like that? I feel more comfortable riding that way than riding really low in the gears.
By no means am I a mechanic so anything you can educate me on (even riding technique) would be great.

I would have recommended a 350 or a 250f. Our 250sxf is kinda like a 250 2 stroke as in the power is in the higher rpms but it's all a controllable power. The 350 revs like a 250 but has more power like a 450, from what I've been told. Other than that Idk what u could do to your 450 but I'm sure someone will be able to chime in

I have a 17 and prefer riding lower in the rpm range, but I'd recommend dropping a tooth or two on the rear sprocket to stay in second gear a little longer possibly? Might be something to try not sure what conditions you ride in. I normally use 3rd as much as possible, 4th as well

You could have (Justin P.) @ Tokyo mods map your stock Bike but that is still limited in performance. I am personally a Vortex fan.
The rev limiter is raised, custom maps can be down loaded with the software or just use 0-10 which are standard on each unit.
As you add mods it is then possible to change maps to suit changes.

A heavy flywheel can help detune some of the snap. Try calling Twisted Development, they might be able to detune your stock ECU or set you up with a Vortex.

I rode 2 2017 CRF450s with different maps and I'd take the bike that had a custom softer/mellow map all day long over the hard hitting map.

I had mine done by Tokyo mods, it can be smoothed out a lot over stock. I added a slip on yosh at the same time but most of the difference comes from the tune. Just tell them you want it smooth. I have a torque map and a hard pack map. Both are smoother and easier to ride than stock, I couldn't keep the front wheel down going around turns because how jerky it was off idle, the tune fixed that no problem.
