Guys, I found an old PSI pipe for my 88 RM250. It's in the shiny chrome finish but is somewhat rusted on the back side. Can this pipe be painted black using heat paint being it's chromed? What would I need to do to get the paint to stick?

Thanks!

You could hit it with scotchbrite and then polish it again? Other wise you will have to sand it to get paint to stick.

You can take it to a plating company that does chrome/nickel/etc and have them strip the plating. Then you’ll have a bare pipe and can either do a factory or painted finish.

I'd suggest sending it out to a place in Oregon called pipe repair if I recall. They do good work & for the price they're hard to beat.
