Common problem on a YZ125?

Muscle-Milk-KTM
Went to change the water pump seals on my 08 YZ125 & I noticed the govner dowel was broken in 3 pieces. Then checked the power valve and on the left hand valve, the dowel that's pressed in had come out & was laying in the bottom. Govner pin £0.22, valve £168 BlinkBlink

Are these common problems?
