KTM shock valve body float

Took my 17 150 xc-w shock apart last night to lighten up the H/S dampening a bit. The secondary valve body floats about 1.5mm. Other than cost savings from the needle that is in the previous model PDS rear shocks, any advantage or disadvantage to this floating shock valve body?

I haven't done the newest PDS shocks, but that looks like something is loose. I could be wrong of course because I haven't done a new one.

I am guessing you have a problem. That seems like it would defeat the point of the shim stack. I don't know anything about pds tho.
