KX500 rear wheel mod

Bought a 2003 KX500. Doing a 2016 KX450 front end on it. Been reading that if I want to use a new KX450 rear wheel assembly, I will have to modify the swing arm to accommodate for the larger rear axel. Want to avoid this and use as many stock parts as I can. Also don't want to have to do anything funny with the rear brake.

Question: will a kx450 rear rim be able to mount to a kx500 hub? I have an extra black rear hoop, seeing if I can avoid going to buy one!

The rim and hub will work just fine. You may have to buy a set of spokes as I believe the 500's used an 18" rear rim?

Will do. Going to be a little while as I am still gathering parts before I build.

Great, I"m in the same mode with a 90 K5, just doing some research & deciding what direction to go with it. I know the stock 41 mm forks are not staying on....I can work with 46 mm forks...I believe you will need everything from the kxf to make it work, forks, wheel & brake assy correct?

Not to hijack this guys thread, but I have a compete front end from a KX 125 I could sell you. Perfect shape. Forks, triples, front wheel, axles, spacers you name it.

I bought a set of 2016 kx450f forks and according to my research, they should slide right into the stock triple clamps. Doing this though, I will need the front wheel off a kx250/450f as well as a front brake assy. Should be able to acquire all of these partspretty easy on ebay.
