I would like to know the actual difference between a 2003 KX250 pipe and a 2005-07 pipe. Is it actual design/shape differences or is it just mounting points? I have a 2003 and would like. pipe that is only made for newer models. If all I have to do is change the mounting points then cool!

I'd be willing to bet it's shape of the pipe. fitment wise, they're probably near similar but optimized to take advantage of their respective port timings.

The 05 and up motors use a different exhaust flange. The older motors the pipe went in the cylinder flange, on the 05 and up the pipe goes over.

It absolutely will not fit the cylinder. Google some images to compare.

One slides into the cylinder and the other fits over. They will not work. I was given a few pipes for an 03 and my 05 is totally different
