On my 2006 YZ125 it's a weird double-stepped nut. I assume all the newer YZ125's are the same?
Anyway, the smaller outer part of the nut is 24mm or 15/16". It seems better to use the outer part as the bigger inner part is very thin, not much for the socket to grab on to.

I’ve done the job now, it was a 24mm nut, don’t know what this double not you’re talking about is, someone else said the same. The nut was the type with a wider edge on it, like a washer I suppose & the locking tab underneath.
