Heat is your friend, put a nut on the end of the threads so that when you’re hitting it, you don’t peen the end of the bolt over. Also instead of pb I’ve had good luck with a 50/50 mix of acetone and atf

Try seafoam deep creep. Its a lot better than pb blaster. Next heat the swingarm up to 200 degrees and then blast that bolt out with an impact if a ratchet wont get it.

Kroil Oil. Went through this on a 97 YZ I just got done restoring. Lay Bike on its side and spray that throughout the course of a couple of days. Heat will help too

I've had one stuck rear bad on a YZ250F, all the different liquids & heat did not work this time. I had to sacrifice the pivot bolt and drill into each side of the bolt, using a drill-bit that would reach at least halfway. The reduced wall thickness allowed the bolt to shrink slightly allowing it to come out.

Should i heat the bolt or just the swingarm area? This is driving me nuts, ive never seen one so bad. I wonder if a press from harbor frieght would break it free, would that be a bad idea?

Heat the swingarm. Aluminum expands faster than the steel bolt, thus creating room between the two. An impact will get it out. No, a press will not get it.

Heat the engine case also. It sticks in the sleeve that runs inside the swingarm bearing, so heat may not get to that area as well. Heat and a big ass hammer! If you have to beat it much, you can count on a new swingarm bolt.

Im such an idiot. I thought he was talking about the bolts for adjusting the chain. LOL.

The pivot bolt sometimes gets rotated on the end with the flats on both sides of the head. The corners on there will dig into the frame and sieze it up. A screw driver and hammer can free it up.

The Nut is off it sounds like? so an Impact will do nothing...... you need to heat the engine case up because I highly doubt it is stuck the bearings which are pressed into the swingarm. I would keep soaking it while laying on it's side so it can run down inside and use heat as the last ditch effort, using heat is great if you are cautious and you understand the damage that could be done by using it.

Thats interesting because it is some what twisted into the frame!

Youll have to use a screwdriver to sortof untwist it. It wont come out until you do. Once its straight you can pound it out.

Had same thing with a used yz125 I bought.Tried everything from heat to soaking in penetrate type fluids. Rang a mechanic freind and he just said flattley you have to bash them out. I ended up literally using a sledge hammer and had to swing fairly hard till it moved the first 50mm or so. Just be careful of miss hits, I put wood blocks around in case. He did suggest that if you grind the head off the opposing side they tend to come out easier backward. I saved my bolt by cutting the last two threads off as they belled but really need to get a new one.

Do you have some pics if your issue? Taking a punch or extension and a dead blow hammer will knock that thing right out. Try an air hammer on a rag maybe

Had the same issue on a yz250. Tried everything and it wouldn’t budge. What worked for me was cooling then rapidly heating. Try packing some ice around the bolt area to cool it off, once the bolt is cold heat up around the engine case area until it’s warm and try beating it out. Might have to do it a couple times but that worked well for me multiple times.

Get an air chisel. Cut the end off of the chisel so you are left with a round end. Use the air chisel with the modified attachment to push out the stuck pivot bolt. I have used this method to easily push out a bolt that would not budge with a sledge hammer.

Just an FYI - You want an impact WRENCH. Not an impact driver.
