Hi guys,
I’ve been building my 2004 YZ250 for a while and finally got round to assembling the transmission today.
On further inspection I noticed that one of the shift forks has “5BE4” on it, from looking at other YZ250 builds I’m sure this is the fork that is supposed to have “5BE7” on it?
Am I right in thinking that this 5BE4 fork is from a WR? If so, exactly what WR is this from and is it ok to use on my 04 YZ250?
Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me, I’ve added some pictures below to help explain.

The shift fork that’s currently on my bike ( 5BE4)

What I think is supposed to be there? (5BE7)

Thanks in advance guys Smile

Update -

Removed the transmission today so I could get a better look at the shift forks.
The shift forks from my transmission are 5BE4, 5BE5, 5BE6 instead of 5BE7, 5BE8 and 5BE9 which other YZ250’s have.
This has made me think that I may have a complete different transmission?
Any YZ experts out there that may know?
Cheers!

Done a bit more research and I’m thinking the shift forks or maybe the whole trans is from a WR as the shift drum end also has “4EW” stamped on it which matches the WR.

Edit - Noticed that the YZ250 shift drum also has 4EW stamped on it.

Updated part numbers that superseded the old ones?
Counting the teeth on the gears should let you know very quickly if it's sporting a WR trans.
