Hello all,

I've been searching for yellow wheels for my bike and can't seem to find any aside from the rediculously over priced ones at fasterusa.com. Is that really the only option? Also as far as building my wheels should I just get used stock hubs of a 2010+ rmz and do the TCR turn-down/lathe & lace? Just trying to find the most cost effective route here for that factory look!

Price breakdown
Faster USA front and rear yellow wheel $234 and $204
TCR turn down and true $350 per set
Rubbers, sprocket, and rotors $300

Thank you

Cheapest option is turn down. Otherwise you buy an entire machined billet hub from the various wheel manufacturers. Dubya might have something for you. Wont be cheap tho.

Why not buy just the hoops in yellow, have your stock hubs either powdercoated or anodized whatever color for fairly cheap and lace and true the wheels yourself? Save you loads of money...

There is a MAP Policy that RK Excel forces companies to abide by when advertising their products for sale online. I know it sounds dumb, but companies are supposed to list Excel products at those high retails when selling them individually online. Please give FasterUSA a call before claiming that they are "rediculously over priced", because if you look at the rebuild combos offered, it ends up being much cheaper because labor can be discounted. For example, $583 gets you your hubs blasted, new spokes, and yellow Excel Takasago rims laced, trued and shipped back to you. If you don't need spokes, it's even cheaper.

i bought a complete yellow rim/mag hub wheel set for $925, it didn’t come with everything to bolt on but now i have an extra wheel set. I did the yellow excels but smpro makes a yellow rim as well.

Thanks everybody for all the info. I just wasn't reading into it enough apparently as the SMpro wheels and fasterusa rebuild packages are both fairly priced.

The smpro rims are more gold than what they appear to be on the website, just in case you have not seen them in person.

Will the yellow rims lace up to a yz hub? I wanted to run them for some time now and i have a set of stock hubs around.

I think that second option is best when it comes down to cost effectiveness. I did it myself before and it turned out nicely .

No. The rims are different. Oops. See below.

Actually, was just looking at Excel Product Book, the RM and YZ rims are the same part numbers.

What are we looking at in the Before/After pics?
ANd I would have to agree with one of the posters above, those SMPro rims look kind of lime-ish colored.
