Thanks Chaser503 for the reply. I checked those out and they don't seem to make them for the RM 250.

These weren't available for my 78 RM125 either. However...just find the right size / diameter / # of spoke holes for any other bike and they will fit.

Haan makes hubs for your bike. Can be more affordable than Talon depending on who you get it from, and much better quality than any of the private labeled Chinese/Taiwanese stuff in the $500-$600 range. If that's your budget for wheels, you're better off reusing your stock hubs, having them coated or polished, and laced up with new spokes and nipples and some Excel or DID rims for the same price, sometimes even less. Feel free to message me if you need anymore info.

Thanks mxb2, I read on other threads on here where you have told many others this same thing so thats exactly what I did. Keith hooked me up and my new set of wheels will be here in a week or so.

Strip the stock wheel sets down, get the stock hubs & skim the castings down on a lathe and hard anodise them. Buy a set of Excel rims and a good set of stainless spokes or new steel ones depending on your budget. Buy a $100 truing stand and a cheap spoke wrench, watch the Rocky Mountain ATV MC video on youtube on how to re lace and true your wheel sets and save yourself a few hundred, Keep on top of spoke tension and you will not have any dramas, top of the line quality for half the price.

TCR Wheels killed the wheelset for my 125. Stock hubs were turned and coated like Slosh mentioned, and laced with a set of DID STX hoops. I’m very happy with the quality, and will never have an issue with flirting to find an odd-ball set of bearings/spokes to use on an aftermarket hub. Plus the price was very competitive.

Faster USA. Talk to Colin and he can get you squared away. I just got a set of wheels from them and they're a work of art. Very reasonable pricing too.

I have been considering these:

RM250 Wheelset

They also have Stock sizes....

I have also been thinking about doing what Slosh 112 suggests.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I ended up having KSR build me a set of Excels with Hann Hubs! Very happy with how they turned out.

These are the wheel sets I built for my RM125. Excel rims, locally made stainless spokes, aftermarket wheel spacers that I got re anodised in blue, new SKF bearings and seals, new Michelin tubes and star cross 5's all built on stock hubs that I skimmed then blast with crushed glass and then got hard anodised. Would have got away with the lot start to finish for under 900 *not including the moto stuff brake disc on the front*

EDIT: also have motion pro lite loc rim locks and a wheel truing stand I made in a few lunch breaks at work.

To me it's the only way to go, billet hubs are heavier and pointless I think. People say "yeah but they are stronger" this is true for the high end brands that use a high grade billet aluminium but I've never seen a stock hub fail just because it was made from cast aluminium. Every hub failure (and I'm talking about a failure not crash damage) I've seen has been from the rear sprocket bolts coming loose and it's always the rear hub. Being realistic hubs don't have to be super strong to start with. The rear wheel deals with most of the forces and most of the rear hubs strength comes from the sprocket and disc. Back when there were no limits(especially weight limits) cast magnesium was used and was really thin I know of some factories that used a titanium band on the inside for the spokes to thread through so that the spokes didn't pull through the magnesium.

Plus cheap Chinese "Billet" hubs and other parts have ruined it for me.
