Supercross Testing Before the X Games

Normally Supercross testing doesn’t really get started before the end of the outdoor season, but with this weekend’s upcoming Supercross into the X Games, several riders were out testing at their respective tracks today. Chad Reed and Grant Langston were out at the Yamaha track, and the Honda track sounded busy as well. But we were most intrigued to watch Mike Alessi, since we hadn’t seen him aboard a 450 on a Supercross track before.

The KTM crew had a pair of KTMs for Mike to ride and choose from. One was a very quick 250 SXF-based bike, and the team was being a little tight-lipped about the exact engine displacement. With a run-what-you-brung format, the option was there for some experimentation.

While we were there, Mike was aboard the 450SX, under the watchful eyes of his crew, and looked good aboard the big thumper.
