15 Ryno Power Athletes Inside the Top 20 at Hangtown

The first round of The Outdoors has finally arrived and proved to be an exciting weekend. Motocross is continually named one of the most physically demanding sports in the world. To no surprise, Ryno Power helps a handful of the series’ fastest riders and many rising stars in the sport.

This past weekend marked the start of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Hangtown MX in Northern California. With the 250 and 450 titles up for grabs, it’ll be interesting to see who sets themselves apart from the rest of the group.

Austin Forkner had an eventful afternoon. A small mechanical issue caused Forkner to fall to 11th in the first moto. However, a strong ride in the second moto landed him 2nd place and would push Forkner to a 5th overall on the day.

Consistency was key for Aaron Plessinger at the first round of Nationals. Training with Gareth Swanepoel has kept him in top shape and near the top of pack in 250s. Plessinger spent the first moto in the lead group and finished in 3rd place. He posted a 5th in the second moto, Plessinger would take 3rd overall for the day.

After a successful and complete Supercross season, Cianciarulo is carrying his momentum to the Nationals. After grabbing the holeshot in the first moto, Cianciarulo would lose the lead to Osborne but hang on for a 2nd place finish. A less fortunate second moto would place Cianciarulo at 8th to give him a 4th overall for Round 1.

After missing much of the Supercross season with various injuries, Colt Nichols has returned to full health just in time for the Outdoors. Training with Gareth Swanepoel has played an important role in Nichols’ quick recovery and consistent results on the track. Nichols posted some of the best scores of the 250 class for the day, resulting in 6th overall at Hangtown after going 5-6.

A wrist injury kept Broc Tickle on the sidelines for the final rounds of the Supercross season, however, he was able to recover in time for the opening rounds of Nationals. Despite limited time on the bike prior to Round 1, Tickle stayed near the front of the pack in both 450 motos. Tickle was able to finish 5th overall with 7-7 results at Hangtown.

Training with Gareth Swanepoel has kept Cooper Webb’s results amongst the top in his class. Last year, Webb won the 250 Title after a dominating season. This year marks Webb’s first season in the 450 class. Webb kicked off the season with a 5-9 finish in Motos 1 and 2 for a respectable 7th overall.

Weston Peick made his return to the track after missing most of the Supercross series due to a wrist injury sustained at the Phoenix round of the Supercross season. Peick finished his day on 12-11 scores to claim an 11th overall.

Christian Craig has moved up to the 450 class for the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship season as a fill-in rider for Ken Roczen. Craig led the field in the first moto, claimed 9-14 moto scores, and finished 12th overall in the premier division.

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series heads to Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA next weekend.
