Loket Presents Lancelot First Round Victory of 2010

LOKET
(CZECH REPUBLIC)
, 8 August 2010 – Livia Lancelot obtained her first
round victory of the season in the Czech Republic and left the FIM
Women’s Motocross World Championship open to be decided in the last
round of the Championship in Fermo, Italy. Second was Maria Franke,
who was tied in points with the French winner after achieving her
maiden heat victory, and third was red plate holder Stephanie Laier
with a double second place in the races.

KTM HDI MX’s
Lancelot achieved her so expected overall victory in the penultimate
round of the Championship and kept the Title drama alive as now the
series can only be decided in the last round in Fermo, Italy. The
French expressed her disappointment on her third place obtained on
race one but thanked everybody around her for their strong support
which made her self-esteem go up and help her to win the second race
of the weekend, getting an eventual round victory.

Second
place went for Diga KTM’s Franke who was really satisfied with her
second overall result after winning her maiden heat of her
professional career and being third in race two. The German could not
be on the top of the podium but she was tied in points with the
French winner Lancelot. However, Franke moved two positions up in the
points standings and she is now third in the Championship - 13 points
behind second classified Lancelot.

Red Bull KTM Factory
Racing’s Laier was third in Loket but she was not disappointed at
all with her result as she was not riding at her top level. The
German had some cramps on the right part of her arm before race two
and could not even feel her fingers. After receiving some treatment
she was able to race the final moto, where she finished second and
managed to be third overall. The German is still leading the series
with 39 points over Lancelot and is looking forward to racing in the
last round of the series in Fermo and try to go out with her second
World Title in a row.

Fourth overall was German
Papenmeier who did not have very good starts this weekend and could
only be fourth and fifth in the races. She is now fourth in the
Championship, only four points behind Franke, and is willing to race
in Fermo to finish in the top three at the end of the
series.

Completing the top five was Italian Nocera, the
result being a confidence booster ahead of Fermo, sixth was British
Kane and seventh was Dutch De Mol.

Italian Fontanesi
could only be eighth due to her 16th position in race one on
Saturday. She was involved in a crash after the start and was dropped
down to 25th position, working her way up through the race. However,
in the second heat Fontanesi succeeded to be fourth and hopes to race
for the victory at her home round in Fermo.
