MIPS and Racer X Online Establish Partnership to Recognize “Save of the Day” During 2020 Pro Motocross Championship

In Effort to Raise Awareness of the Little Things That can Make the Big Difference, Initiative Will Recognize the Best Save from Each Stop of Nine Round Season

STOCKHOLM (August 20, 2020) As motorcycle racing championships around the world get back on track to either continue or begin their respective 2020 seasons, MIPS AB, the Swedish-based innovator of multi-directional brain protection technology, and Racer X Online, the world’s top source of motocross and supercross news, have come to an agreement on a partnership surrounding the 2020 AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

Following each event during the nine-round Pro Motocross season MIPS and Racer X will recognize the “Save of the Day,” which could occur on the track, when a rider avoids a crash by keeping it on two wheels, or in the pits, when a team or mechanic goes above and beyond to ensure a rider’s day doesn’t end prematurely. The initiative was created to bring awareness to the little things that can make the big difference and the importance of using safer gear. The innovative and research-driven Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) Brain Protection System (BPS), can be found integrated into the helmets of several of Pro Motocross’ most recognizable names like Dean Wilson, Chase Sexton, and Aaron Plessinger, as well as the up-and-coming riders from Troy Lee Designs KTM.

At the season-opening Loretta Lynn’s National from Tennessee’s Loretta Lynn’s Ranch the “Save of the Day” was awarded to Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson. The Moto 1 winner in the 450 Class was in pursuit of his first career overall win in the second moto when he encountered a lapped rider while running third. Anderson’s bike came out of a rut and sent him across the track, right in front of the lapped rider. Fortunately, the Husqvarna rider kept it on two wheels and although he lost a position, the save allowed Anderson to secure a runner-up finish in the overall classification.

The MIPS “Save of the Day” is announced on the Wednesday following each Pro Motocross round and can be found by visiting RacerXOnline.com
