Owen keeps the Red Plate after Points Reset

It’s not very often you lead 29 ½ laps out of 30 and finish in second place! In the crazy world of Arenacross almost anything is possible. Jace and Ben started off the weekend on the right note; qualifying first and second in their heat race, transferring directly to the main, also qualifying for the Head 2 Head competition. Jace won his first two heats in the H2H, and in the final against Gavin Faith, got an uncharacteristically bad start to finish in the runner up spot, losing the extra point to the Monster backed rider. This point would prove costly later on…

Back to his usual starts in first Main event, Jace led Faith, Blose, and Lamay into the first turn. Ben tried an inside pass on Blose and went down, dropping him to the back of the pack. The top 3 riders then left the rest of the field with about a 1 second gap between each of them. On the final lap, a lapped rider blocked Jace’s line giving the lead to Faith with only half a lap left.

The finishing order was Owen, Faith and Blose. Ben worked his way up to 9th, regulating him to a back row start in the second main.

The second main was a repeat of the first with Owen out front followed by Faith and Blose. This time, Owen was taking no chances, leading every lap and finishing almost 2 seconds ahead of Faith.

Jace’s (2-1) would usually give him the win over Faith (1-2) but the extra point from the Head 2 Head gave the overall to Faith.

After the reset, they are now tied going into the 2nd round. Should be intense racing this week as we are have two nights of racing in Reno…
