Sears Centre to Host the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series

Chicago Finally Gets Arenacross

Fort Worth, TX (December 28, 2006) – For the first time ever, Chicago will be the site of a world class Arenacross, as the all new Sears Centre will host the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series on January 12-14.

The high-flying, adrenaline-fueled arenacross series will feature factory support teams and top professional motorcycle racers from across the country. For 3-days the floor of the Sears Centre will become a battle field of double and triple jumps, huge berms and bone-jarring whoop-de-doos with more than 200 truck loads of dirt dumped on the arena floor.

The Sears Centre is an 11,000-seat multi-purpose family entertainment, cultural and sports center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago that opened October 26, 2006. The center will be home to the Chicago Hounds (United Hockey League) and Chicago Storm (Major Indoor Soccer League), as well as the Chicago Shamrox (National Lacrosse League), and an indoor football team in the Continental Indoor Football League, which start in 2007. The BooKoo Arenacross will be the first dirt event at the new Sears Centre.

Round 6 of the 10-city BooKoo Arenacross Championship series offers more than $3.5 million dollars in purse, point fund and contingency money, making this the richest arenacross series in history – and the competition will be brutal! Many of the world’s best arenacross and local professional riders will tackle one of the toughest “big-air” tracks in the country featuring a seventy foot finish line catapult.

Mike Kidd, president of MKEG who has 23 years experience promoting successful arenacross events throughout the country is looking forward to bringing this national caliber series to Chicago. “Chicago is the perfect market and we are coming to the perfect venue to showcase the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series,” Kidd said. “We expect a full-house to see the colorful and extreme sport of arenacross.”

Motocross has often been called the most physical and demanding sport in the world and taking motocross indoors makes arenacross one of the fastest growing indoor motor sports in the country.

Advance Reserved Discount Tickets are now on-sale at the Sears Centre Box Office, select AMCORE Banks, phone (888) SEARSTIX or go online at www.searscentre.com.

Fans can come early Friday and Saturday night with a track walk and autograph session beginning at 6:30pm with professional racing at 7:30pm. More than 500 youth and amateur riders are expected to compete on Sunday, with main events at 2pm.
