Payson, UT (Feb.13, 2017) – The excitement was intense as the Monster Energy Supercross season headed to Arlington, Texas for round six of the 2017 season inside the impressive AT&T Stadium. Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS rider Davi Millsaps lead the charge for the team as he raced through the field for an 8th place finish.

Davi Millsaps made his way to the main event with a strong ride in his heat race. He launched out of the start gate and rounded the first turn in third place. He would hold off an attack from the competition, staying clear of the carnage to finish 3rd and transfer to the main event.

In the main event, Davi went down hard after another rider collided with him in the first turn. The crash tweaked the front end enough that he was forced into the mechanics area for repairs. Restarting the race nearly a lap down, he would put on the ride of the season charging all the way up to 8th place by the finish of the race. After six sounds, Davi is 6th place in the championship points.
“It was a challenge tonight.” said Millsaps, “The track was technical and I didn’t get the start I needed. We will regroup and come back strong next week in Minneapolis”

Blake Baggett: 17th Place

Getting a handle on the track early on, Blake Baggett posted the 4th fastest qualifying time of the day. On the gas from the moment the gate dropped, Baggett would just miss out on the holeshot, rounding the first turn in 3rd. He rode solid, finishing 3rd and transferring to the main event.

Baggett woudn’t get the start he needed as he rounded the first turn mid-pack. He had worked his way up to 6th place by mid race when he went down after hitting a slick spot on the track. Due to the crash, he would suffer damage to the controls of the bike, in which he had to enter the mechanics area for repairs. After the necessary repairs, he would continue and finished the night in 17th place. He moves back to 12th in the championship points.

“It was a frustrating night.” said Baggett, “I was fast on this track, but the track became an ice skating rink and it started biting a lot of us riders back in the main. It was just a tough end to the night.”
