Many off-road racers will attend the event. 2 Times Enduro World Champion Ivan Cervantes landed on Tenerife this Tuesday afternoon, and was the first to touch the Canarian soil. On the other hand the Barragan brothers, Jonathan and Jesus, will be the last to arrive, on Friday morning.

2005 MX3 World Champion Sven Breugelmans, and Spaniards Aaron Bernardez and Carlos Campano will not race this weekend because of injuries. Other competitors will heat the San Miguel de Abona circuit: Cedric Melotte, Yves Demaria, Brian Jorgensen, Alex Salvini, and many other, will race in the MX1 class together with Ivan Cervantes and Jonathan Barragan. The latter is the defending Champion: Spanish Jonathan Barragan won the 2005 edition of the Motocross Internacional de Tenerife, after a dramatic Super Final with Danish Brian Jorgensen.

Barragan’s brother, Juan, will be in the MX2 together with Luigi Seguy, Francisco Millan, Nicolas Larsen, Mike Valade, Davide Guarneri, Anthony Sutton and many more.

Also French Livia Lancelot will race the MX2 class of the Motocross Internacional de Tenerife; Livia is on the gas, and grasped 3rd place in the FIM Motocross Women World Cup this year.

Among the many European riders, there will be also the Chilean Champion Felipe Otero. He will compare himself to the European riders by racing in the MX2 class.

Each category will race 2 Motos, at the end of which the best 15 riders of each class will be together in an exciting 30 minute plus two lap Superfinal.

The race regulations are similar to the ones applied to the FIM Motocross World Championship; the main differences are the duration of each Moto (20 minutes plus 2 laps), and the presence of a Superfinal (30 minutes plus 2 laps).

On Saturday there will be two races, one for the “Alevin” class (50cc and 65cc bikes), and one for the “Juvenil” class (85cc bikes). But on Sunday the show is all for the MX1 and MX2 stars, with the first moto starting at 10.35.

Beyond Motocross racing, Saturday and Sunday the Freestyle Team Da Boot will keep the crowd’s heart beating fast, with their numerous incredible tricks.

The 4 year old San Miguel de Abona circuit is located in the south of Tenerife. It is designed on a sixty thousand square meter surface and plays host to many testing sessions during the winter, thanks to excellent weather conditions. The circuit is 1630 metre long, with an average width of 10 metres.

On Wednesday, the 6th of December, the promoters of the GoldenTyre Trophy organized a special Enduro school, with a special teacher: Ivan Cervantes. Cervantes first explained the Enduro theory to the 25 participants, then everybody practiced on the bike, with Cervantes leading the group.
