Not at all, I'm just saying the OP knows how to ride that bike, because that triple is a challenge for most riders, two stroke or four.

God dang it. Probably another track I'll never be able to hit! Would love to ride that place. My 125 would be in dream land at that place. so....much....fun!

What jetting are you running on your YZ's?
Bump
in this video the bike is 100% stock but in my personal bike i run 420 main jet, 6BFY43-74 needle in 3rd clip, and 40 pilot. I use vforce 3 reeds and a pc pipe/silencer but also used it with the fmf combo as well

The only reason why I ask is because over here stock jetting is 430 main, 40 pilot & the 43-74 needle and I've been told by a guy, that just about everyone says to talk to about jetting, to run 480 main (500 in the winter), 42.5 pilot & 44-75 needle at 50:1. That seems awfully rich to me but he told me to run that coz he said Yamaha is way off with their jetting.

I havent rode with those settings yet as the weather in the UK is awful at the moment. Can anyone who rides in Europe also tell me what their settings are?

I'm running a Bud Racing pipe & silencer with VF3.

In the summer we run the following:
430 main
40 pilot
OEM needle with clip 3rd
air screw 1 - 1.25 out
Fuel: premixed VP T2

Winter:
440 Main
42 pilot
OEM Needle clip in 3rd
air screw 1.5 - 2

This is on a national build motor with FMF Pipe/Silencer

So do you think this guys settings are way off?

The settings he gave me. I'm no National rider by any stretch of the imagination.

480-500 main sounds crazy rich to me. I would expect the bike to be sluggish on top and not rev out cleanly.

I have a 2006 and I am running the stock needle in stock position, up one on the pilot to 42.5 and down 1 on the main to 400 (stock was 410) with a Bill's pipe and silencer (same jetting used for FMF) and VP MS-100 mixed 32:1 with Maxima Super-M. I ride 1,000 - 5,000 ft with this jetting. If I go below 1,000 or temp below 50 degrees I put the 410 main back in. I've tried going richer and leaner on all jets one by one to test everything and this is where I ended up. Here's the results.

On a serious note, I was really just messing around with all the 2t hates, 4t lovers. However I do believe that will talent on a 4t does not mean they will also have equal talent on a 2t.

hi i have a 2007 suzuki rm 125 and the crank seized i'm pretty sure because the jetting was too lean

the bike would run around 2 minutes on the track before getting hot and bogging

at first the jetting was stock, but i started increasing the main (which did help)

i think the 440 main is straight up, too lean, if you ride wide open sand at sea level even at 75f+

i have a variety of suzuki needles for the bike, but i havent tried any(yet)

i think with at least a 460 main and adjusting clip position to #4, there would likely be bare minimum fuel

aftermarket reeds, exhaust pipes, probably affect this setting a lot

i wish i put in the 500 main instead of the 440 that day, for sure

just recently picked up a super low hour 2017 yz125, and i'm worried that the jetting situation will be the same (even though stock is much richer compared to the suzuki rm 125)

i can only find main jets up to 470 in the oem catalog, but ive heard of people using for example a 510 main

huh now i'm wondering since the carburetors are very similar in appearance, perhaps the array of jets i've got for the suzuki will possibly fit the yamaha

i guess if your fuel or motor requires a leaner mixture, ok, but for the rest of us using normal fuel like pump premium or av100ll, at stock oil mixture, i reckon the bike on a 440 main would only last as long as it takes your ability to increase then you'll be turning rpm and the motor will fail in short order, now this is just my hypothesis, because with a #370 main in the suzuki, there was no way that engine was going to stay together unless it was a novice mini transplant slow riding the backyard

idk, i think in the yamaha, i'll try a size smaller pilot from stock, keep a vast assortment of needles on hand, and run the clip in #4 potentially, with the main jet at least 480 to start, at 30:1 oil mixture

genuinely i believe that these bikes are chronically underfueled from the manufacturers to limit the amount of time we can ride before catastrophic engine failure... i mean, if all we did was rings and pistons over the course of 100+ hours, how would the manufacturer make any money selling expensive parts or replacement bikes?

Loving my 18 YZ 125 at the moment but I'm seriously thinking about going KTM next year.
I recently bought a REALLY CLEAN and well built 2007 RM125. It's a blast to ride!
But, it makes riding a TC/SX125 "depressing"...
Grinning
They make my RM look as slow...well...as it is.
