I'm doing the WORCS race this weekend and just looking for a cleaner running/ better power bike. Never ran VP or any race fuel before but want to give it a try but I'm very confused on all the different blends.
It's a KTM 300 XC two stroke
thanks

I use VP T2 in my 2-Strokes but it comes pre mixed at 40:1 and I don't think that will work for your KTM.

Why? Does the KTM not like the taste of it or something?

Does the engine know what it is until it says
"Man, this lube is too good, Can't feel a damn thing. I'm hitting 15,000 Pumps per minute, and still not hitting that rev limitier!", or
"Man, this thing is running dry. I'm getting hot, sticky, and chafed down here in this hole. She's steaming, and it sure doesn't smell like Klotz!"

No, Dude. KTM recommends 60:1, not 40:1. I thought everyone knew that.

I run C12/91 mixed 5050 with 50:1 oil in my KTM 125.

You should run the bike before your race on the new gas and oil mix to confirm it runs well. Nothing worse then showing up on race day and the bike running wrong.

Yah, that's for emissions and my Dad riding trails in the woods Not for engine longevity.

And Dungeys KTM was smoking like a mofo at RBSR. Pretty sure that wasn't 60:1.
After a hard run, that sucker loaded right up.

Did you know MXA Runs 32:1 in everything, and runs Yamalube R? Yep. Always have, they probably always will.

Wrong. If you go back and read the MXA test for the 2019 KTM 250 SX they talk about the 60:1 ratio.

X2, never make major changes without putting a ride in before race day.

We had a fire-breathing RD400 that would seize on anything less than 32:1 running Yamalube R. Ask me how I know...

You're wrong on all accounts there 77. If you're gonna quote MXA, get it right. Someone already gave you the info on ratios. If you read through last months edition, you'll also see that they moved away from Yamalube.

C12 is a bit too racy for most folks, instead, lean towards VPR for most 2 stroke engines as it's less expensive and can still be mixed with premium pump gas for a good overall mix.

That's what I ended up going with. Such a bargain at $25 dollars a gallon lol! The guy at VP said it was that best fuel they had right now for 2T

As far as you guys wisely telling me not to make changes right before a race? Yeah. Definitely good, sage advice. I'm not really sure why but I tend to break that rule alot lol. I rarely make changes while out practicing but sitting in my shop before a race I suddenly want to change everything!

Hope it doesnt come back to bite me. I probably wont be able to afford to run $25/gallon fuel consistently anyway. Unless of course I win this weekend then...time to second mortgage the house I guess!

Thanks for all the input.

That great fuel but it's a lot of $ for something that wont make a bit of difference in your results. If your spending that kind of cash on fuel I would hope your bike has fresh tires, grips, suspension, etc.

Anyone cut vp110
With pump?
I do. 50:50 in my 125, seems more consistent and easier to jet. Only engine mod is a phat head with some more compresion.

Same, 50/50 for my YZ250 with Maxima K2 32:1. RIPS! I also feel it's a decent value at $60-65 bucks per pail and I'm only mixing 2 gallons of gas total at a time.

As far as the 60:1 thing with KTMs... I would never run that. 40:1 minimum for me. I'd just jet for it. I like longevity and horsepower (and yes, more premix = more hp to a certain extent, 2 strokes love lubrication!)

MRX 02 for a Supermini is the best fuel bar none..... took a new 2018 SX85 on pump gas on the dyno stock jetting, then changed to MRX at 32:1 Maxima K2 oil, dyno gained 9% HP, VP quotes 10% HP gains from this fuel/ I think there close enough to advertise 10? heck with maybe a jet change or better conditions who knows maybe 11% HP gains.....

its amazing what a fuel can do for an engine these days......

C12 and pump premium at 50:50 worked great for my 06 CR 250. Much crisper throttle response which was exactly what I wanted. It help a bunch with detonation on that bike too.

i think that fuel is oxygenated so you may need to rejet or you will be running quite lean

Yup
You will not get your moneys worth unless you rejet with that fuel.
We use that at altitude (Mammoth), to avoid re-jetting. You’ll need to jet your bike richer to get the most out of it.

Not sure if it's still available, but in the early 2000's I use to run U2. Good stuff !

Been running C12 for the last 15 yrs with good results.

Yeah, I'm interested to see how jetting changes. I'm dropping from 4600 ft. to 1600 ft. for the race and they still recommended I go up 10 on the Main Jet.

I always ran my other bikes at 32:1. My new yz250 is 40:1 c12/Sunoco unleaded nonethanol mixed 50/50. I haven’t even touched the jetting and the bike runs awesome. My other bikes were also yz250’s.

Edited. I am now running 32:1
