I am thinking the broadcast picture is not as sharp and clear as last years FS1 broadcast. I was at a friends house watching Glendale and mentioned it to him and he said he thought the same thing. We both have Direct TV and new 4k TV’s. I dont know it just doesn’t seem as sharp. Anyone else think that.

I have YouTubeTV and noticed the same thing. I clicked on the resolution and it was only 720 (instead of 1080). I havent checked the NBC Gold App yet.

I agree! It was blurry a bunch for me. I can't stand that position bar on the side either.

I’ve been saying this for 2 weeks, the bit rate sucks it seems. Must be cheaper to put out low quality HD vs high quality HD.

Yes and not just the NBC stream and video - also the video pass for international viewers. It is extremely compressed and overall very poor quality even when watching on replay like I just did this morning. When watching a live stream, it's smooth but with low picture quality, which is acceptable because it's live, but to see the replay video be just as poor a picture is a bit disappointing.

How many megabits per second are you all getting?

190-200. It's not a streaming issue. It appears that the best quality you can get is 720. At least through YouTube. The playoff games today are in 1080.

Not sure what the bit rate is , but it seems for the most part looks like 720p. With some looking 1080p.....but then switches back. I've been sticking with the actual broadcast on NBCSN / PS Vue. Kind of wish I would have just bought the national package.

megabits per second on the race, not your router or whatever

I have the NBC Gold Pass. If it is in a window, it is 4.19 Mb per second. If it is full screen, it is 5.73.

I noticed the same thing, I was watching the car auction on NBCSN and it was clear. The Supercross race, not so clear.

I’M running nbc gold pass from lap top to a 60” tv and it’s not a good picture quality. So my picture quality goes down on a larger screen ?

I thought the same. Hurried up and put up my new 65 and was kind of disappointed. Switched some channels after and they look better.

When watched it last night on Direct TV channel 220 and it appeared 720. Now NBC local channel 6 ran the re-run today and that was high-def or 1080 for sure. Much sharper on the re-run!

Not sure mine looked great. But I’m on a 55 inch. Streaming with fire stick. Avg 80-105mbps down.

The moon landing on a 19 in black and white was better.

New tv, new cable to the house, new cable through the attic and wall to the new modem to some badass high dollar router they said I needed, to the roku stick they said I needed to the Spectrum app they said I needed....and still a shit picture. The damned Hallmark channel is beyond amazing though! What would it take to get moto on my wife's favorite channel???

Watched A1 on Gold Pass, not so great - especially compared to FS1/FSN app. Watched Glendale on DirecTV NOW’s NBCSC stream and the bitrate as well as the framerate was absolutely pristine.

I would say the most frustrating part is not being able to rewind the live feed....

On the app I noticed a difference but I have the channel on DirecTV so I've been watching it on there. At Glendale I thought to myself how great the quality was.

I am watching on the gold app and definitely noticed less quality. Almost blurry at times.

There was one camera that was really bad. It was fuzzy all night long on that one angle.

I think the quality of NBC Gold app sucks. Redbull straight Rhythm was free and it was way better! I also hate that I can't rewind! It's premium app that we all payed money for. Kinda stinks.

Right? WTF? Direct TV and EVERY cable provider has offered live pause and rewind for a decade now...how is this not a thing for NBC Sports Gold? I missed the first 10 minutes of the race because I drank too much beer and fell asleep.....I was baffled when I started it up and couldn't just go from the beginning.

One of these years they'll get coverage of our sport right.

how are you guys watching? I don't have cable but have internet. Seems the only way is to stream off my phone and then mirror it on to my smart TV.

Watching on DirecTV yesterday, it damn near looked like SD to me. It is almost hard to watch that blurry. I hate to gripe when we are lucky to have it on TV at all, but if you are going to air these events on an HD channel, at least make it HD.
