The Shop
2. Yes you do.
3. Right again.
4. Not at all, but I want the lousy workmanship and taking peoples money for same to stop. No ethics WHATSOEVER.
Never confuse anger with dogged determination to see the wrong avenged. It's all about "the little man" in this thread.
Glad to see you haven't been killed in a horrendous fork-slipping crash!

Pit Row
I have a minty CR250 I am doing an RC 2003MXdN rep on, but i'll be cold and dead before i get rid of that. Smartcarb, the whole shit-n-shabang.
THIS guy has the right idea.
But still, Fanelli's mount job is laughable.
I didnt mention it earlier, but the head mount on Fanelli's personal bike isnt even round. its a piece of square aluminum he must have got from home depot. im not even kidding. i was nearly in tears laughing at that bike with my friends at that race.
I don't know that I could, or would WANT to sell that thing, but IF I did, it would be advertised for what it is. A complete hackjob, and priced accordingly. On the upside , all the parts from my 04 450 would transfer over to the same gen 2 stroke, just buy a frame, subframe and airbox off E-Bay. Get some aftermarket triple clamps and I'm in business. Saw a frame for $200. CamP thinks it's maybe not the best idea, but I am thinking of going back to my steel frame. I find that the 450 frame is too skinny and small for me. Hard to hang on to. Might try a Guts tall seat, but not sure that'll solve the whole problem. Might just ride it for 13 as is. In "deciding" mode now.
If George Fanelli made an airplane would you fly in it?
Welding aluminum is not for the faint of heart. Service Honda bikes have a solid reputation. Like the previous poster said, save up some money and buy you a used SH. Most of them are in pretty good shape, especially the ones for sale. I've pretty much decided I'm going to strip mine down of all the trick stuff and put it on their site for sale in as stock condition as possible.
Everyone wants one but no one wants to spend the money. I've got probably $12,000 worth of bike in the Service Honda world asking $8500 and no serious buyers. So, I'll strip it down and part the rest out. Keep in mind, if you build you a 500 for $5000, you could have had a reputable bike for another $1000. I couldn't justify jumping 120' triples on a bike I didn't have any clue about the frame welds on. Let that sink in a minute. Your life, resting on the quality of fab and welding that someone you don't know performed, and no real history to fall back on.
I've seen a lot of home jobs. Some of them look really nice. But even the best looking home job, I couldn't go out and race with confidence, not knowing about the weld quality.
BTW, I have a Guts Racing tall seat for a '04 CRF450 that you can have for free if you want to pay for shipping.
