Did you watch the Freestone stream? that Jared Frye kid was racing a NICE RM125 AF fully sponsored by Chaparral and Suzuki. He WORKED the KTM's in at least 1 Moto ....the DMXS announcers said "Uh yea the last time the RM1255 rolled off the assembly line was 2001" ....2001? That and it was an AF ....jesus

That’s what I’m hearing. Based off that I can’t justify spending more than $5000-$5500 on one. If the 2019 has e-start or something, then the 2018’s will be worth like $4000.

Guy I talked to the other day said he got a 2018 yz450f new OTD for 7200. And everyone knows that bike will sell way easier used than a rmz
Is it a sustainable business model to sell 450s for ~7K?

Are the OEMs and dealers selling bikes at cost and hoping to make money on financing and parts?

Will 450s eventually be phased out if massive discounts are the norm? Will Gen. Y and Gen. Z aspire to give up their 250Fs and trade up to a 450?

What is the ratio of 250s to 450s at local tracks and races? 5:1? 10:1? 20:1?

Are these new gen shows "A-Kit" clone forks bigger in diameter at the top tubes than say the KYB SSS forks? Was thinking about picking up a set to replace my 48mm KYB open bath forks

A kx250 2003 .... From what I know the forks were the same outer diameter on the upper tubes from 2003-2007 just updated internals in 2005 and the 2003-2004 forks are the same forks that came on the 2004 YZ's which accept KYB SSS without a clamp change

Awesome looking bikes! I just picked one up about 3 weeks ago and just had the suspension done by a local Race Tech guy. I’m about to put a wheel set up on it (not sure what color yet), full exhaust (either FMF or Yosh), Hinson clutch cover and some graphics! She’s a bad ride stock. It doesn’t feel heavy on the track at all and motor is surprisingly better than I thought it would be. I’ve also heard a link helps the bike so I might try one of JGR links.

Luke did you have Bruno do your head? How wild did he have to go or was there a lot of room for improvement? Did you do mods all at once or did you try pipe first? Nice looking bike!

YES, Bruno did the head and put in the CP piston. I did the pipe prior and it woke it up some but needed more.

Bike looks sweet! What other years did you have? I have a 2011 thinking of getting a new one. One of my biggest complaints with my bike is hard starting. How is the 18 to start?

I've owned a 2006, 2010, 2013, 2017 and now the 2018. For some reason my 2013 always took a few extra kicks to fire up. The 18 definitely starts easier than any of the old models. Two kicks when the engine is cold and one when its warm.

I have a 2012 that took at least 6 kicks every cold start. I believe they are lean down low is reasoning? I Run a aftermarket ignition now and it’s 1-2 kicks.
450 is a 450, I don’t see enough of a change to feel the need to upgrade. Just my .02
Very nice bikes, thanks for sharing.
